Global diversification offering reliable income growth
The Bankers Investment Trust aims to achieve long-term capital growth in excess of the FTSE World Index and annual dividend growth greater than inflation by investing in a global, diversified portfolio of listed companies. The fund has been managed by Alex Crooke of Janus Henderson since 2003. He is responsible for the top-down geographical allocation to six regional portfolios, each of which has a separate manager. The portfolios are run on a bottom-up basis, with a focus on cash generation and dividend growth potential. With each portfolio consisting of 20 to 30 holdings, Bankers is highly diversified, with approximately 170 holdings. The fund has narrowly outperformed over the last five years, with a NAV total return of +115% compared with +113% for the FTSE World benchmark. The fund has a £1.4bn market cap and the historical dividend yield currently stands at 2.0%, following its 54th consecutive year of dividend growth in FY20.
