Quality focus in growing markets rewarded

JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income Trust* aims to provide investors with dividend income, combined with the potential for long-term capital growth, from a diversified portfolio of emerging markets investments. Omar Negyal has been the lead manager of the fund since 2012, and he is supported by co-portfolio managers Jeffrey Roskell and Isaac Thong. The managers aim to invest in sustainable businesses with strong dividend growth prospects, and stock selection prioritises value and quality. All stocks in the portfolio are required to generate income, which collectively is required to exceed the yield of the benchmark. The fund has outperformed its MSCI Emerging Markets Index benchmark over the past one, three, five and ten years. Its NAV total return also outperformed the Global Emerging Markets peer group over the past ten years and the last twelve months. The NAV total return over the last twelve months is +21.8%, compared with +9.9% for the benchmark and +20.5% for the peer group.
