NAV rise reflects earnings growth and investment activity

Standard Life Private Equity* provides diversified exposure to private companies by investing with or alongside a select list of private equity managers, with a focus on European mid-market businesses. There is a high conviction approach, with 17 core managers, and the top ten fund investments represented 41% of net assets at the end of September. Co-investments stood at 11% of net assets.



The fund’s NAV total return for the 12 months to 30 September 2021 was +37.9% compared with +27.9% for the FTSE All Share Index. The share price total return was +60.6%. Foreign exchange movements detracted from performance, with the portfolio’s valuation up 47.4% on the prior year on a constant currency basis. The total dividend was 13.6p, up 3% on the previous year. Since its launch in 2001 to 30 September 2021, the fund has generated an annualised NAV total return of +11.4%.



The Board is proposing a name change to abrdn Private Equity Opportunities Trust plc following the sale of the Standard Life brand to Phoenix Group in May 2021. This is subject to shareholder approval which will be sought at the AGM on 22 March.
